The Delaware River Sojourn is an annual event to
heighten awareness of, and appreciation for the ecological, historical,
recreational, and economic significance of the Delaware River and its
tributaries, which flow through New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. The
Sojourn combines canoeing and kayaking, camping, educational programs, historical
interpretation, and more. The theme for 2014 was Sharing the Journey for 20 Years to celebrate the 20th anniversary. The trip started with the portion of the River just downstream from Barryville, New York, that includes the best series of rapids on the River. It also included Foul Rift near Martins Creek, Pennnsylvania, considered one of the harder rapids. |
